On May 25, IAM students presented the results of the development of the Smart Eco Greenhouse VESNA: https://vesna.uiam.sk
The vertical project integrates students in the 2nd and 3rd years of the bachelor's study programme "Process Control". Students cooperated on the project in a teamwork setup of three teams dedicated to solving particular tasks.
Among other goals, students established effective communication using a cloud service, designed an autonomous control of temperature and lightening and developed the web-based remote control supporting a multi-language interface.
Except for scientific goals, the project develops students' soft skills such as teamwork, time- and task management, and presentation skills.
48th International conference of SSCHE 2022 and membrane conference PERMEA 2022 took place in Tatranské Matliare, High Tatras, Slovakia on May 23-26, 2022. Dr. Radoslav Paulen participates in the conference as a representative of IAM with the contribution:
Martin Mojto - Karol Ľubušký - Miroslav Fikar - Radoslav Paulen: Data-based Design of Inferential Sensors for an Industrial Depropanizer Column with Data Pre-treatment Analysis
The presented contribution is a result of a cooperation of our institute with the refinery Slovnaft a.s.
We are co-authors of a new article in the prestigious international scientific journal IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology:
Chaitanya Jugade - Deepak Ingole - Dayaram N. Sonawane - Michal Kvasnica - John Gustafson: A Memory Efficient FPGA Implementation of Offset-Free Explicit Model Predictive Controller
The paper investigates a reduction of the memory footprint necessary to store the explicit MPC controller implemented on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA).
On May 23, 2022, a workshop will be held in room A601 in cooperation with RU Bochum within the project Embedded Optimal Control supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The workshop is open to all participants.
STU will be the coordinator in the project "FosteRing OpportuNities Towards Slovak Excellence in Advanced conTrol for smart industries" (FrontSeat), which was supported under the Horizon Europe program, Twinning action. Principal investigator prof. Ing. Miroslav Fikar, DrSc. joined forces with other institutes in the field of Cybernetics at STU, submitted the project and succeeded in heavy international competition.
